He creates actualized connotations within a historical frame, not denying its old masterly tendencies, but allowing them to interact in a progressive understanding of those. This is maybe comparable to a palimpsest, whose process of overwriting makes a new creation possible. In this way, Goetze understands to transform his motif painting technique into a dialectical discourse, in using a differentiate surface design.
