Monika Taffet dedicates her artistic practice tot he still life as well as to traditional topics such as landscape and interiors. The motif stays figurative while being formed entirely by color through her sacrifice of outlining. Thanks to this formal reduction, Taffet bringt a gripping depth and perspective to well-known motifs.
Monika Taffet (*1968, Neumark am Miersch/Rumänien) studied at the University of the arts in Berlin with Dietmar Lemcke and Klaus Fußmann. In 2001/02 she was scholarship holder of the Dorothea Konwiarz-Stiftung and guest of the Künstlerkolonie, Gyergyószárhegy in Romania.
