David LaChapelle
David LaChapelle (b. 1963, Connecticut) has been discovered by Andy Warhol, for whose magazine Interview LaChapelle has been working in the 80s. The artist has collaborated with a number of musicians and other celebrities, creating videos and photography. His famous “kissing sailors” advertisement for Diesel has been among the first public campaigns showing lesbian and gay couples kissing.
LaChapelle’s glossy, hyper-realistic work has been presented in various renowned art institutions such as the Musée d’Orsay, Paris and the Barbican Museum, London.
