Nature serves Brixy (*1961 Mannheim, 1985-91 Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe) as the great source of inspiration for his art. His paintings speak their own expressive, lively language, which he breathes into his compositions with brushes, palette knives, combs and other tools. In his almost forbiddingly beautiful and sensual paintings, Brixy has for years moved between abstract action painting and figurative gesture. He developed a distinctive way of modeling multiple layers of paint into vibrant images. In doing so, his paintings are created not only with a brush, but also very directly with his hands. He literally becomes 'hands-on', shaping the impasto oil paints like a sculptor to give them organic and vegetal structures. The results are dynamic, baroque, almost dance-like unleashed color sensations.
Brixy is represented by galleries domestic and abroad. He participates in numerous international art fairs.
