Markus Oehlen
Markus Oehlen, one of the main representatives of the “Young Savages”, applies his motifs in different layers, so that the image pans out in abstraction. His most commonly large-sized works seem indeed to glimmer, to vibrate. Because of the open picture margin, this effect gets transferred directly upon the spectator. The paintings of Oehlen seem to move the environment immediately.
